TOTAL TIME: 20 minutes
SERVES: 3-4
Protein
1 large flank steak
Pantry
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup Bachan's Japanese BBQ Sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 large pack fresh noodles
1 tbsp olive oil
Sesame seeds for garnish
Produce
2 small heads of broccoli
Chives for garnish
Marinate your steak. Thinly slice your steak against the grain and place in a bowl with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp pepper and a pinch of salt. Mix well and set aside.
Prep your broccoli and noodles. To a large frying pan over medium heat, add broccoli with 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook for 2 minutes. Remove broccoli from pan and wipe dry.
If using dried noodles, prepare them now according to package directions.
Assemble. To your frying pan, add 1 tbsp oil, then add beef. Brown for 1 minute before flipping and browning again - don't overstir the beef, let it brown up and caramelize.
Once beef is almost cooked, add in noodles, 1/3 cup bbq sauce with 1/4 cup water, broccoli and mix well. Make your cornstarch slurry - add 1 tbsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water and mix well. Push everything to the side in the pan, add cornstarch slurry to the sauce and then mix all together. Cook for about 3-5 minutes until everything is warmed through and sauce has thickened up.
Serve with extra sauce, sesame seeds and chopped chives.
