Happy Sunday and welcome to this week’s edition of R&R. I’m so glad you’re here 🥰
Life updates:
It was a surprisingly social week this week so lots of fun updates!
I had the pleasure of pre-screening Beetlejuice. It is very nostalgic for me. We didn’t have cable growing up, but we did have a small collection of VHS movies so I would watch them over and over, and Beetlejuice was one of them. I think they did a pretty good job of tying in the original storyline while still making it new. As a Halloween movie, I’d definitely recommend!
Tried pickle beer. I’m inadvertently really leaning into pickles this week I guess! I don’t normally drink beer but we love the pizza at our local brewery so went there for date night and they had a pickle beer, so obviously I HAD to try it. It was surprisingly good. Honestly kind of tasted like a bubbly, less aggressive pickle brine. Would I drink a whole pint? No. Do I think it would be fabulous for a hangover pick-me-up? 100%.
You may have seen in my stories but for our final long weekend summer sendoff we took Reggie for a swim. Obviously she’s a big water girl. We all had a blast.
ICYMI: Recipes from the week
Dill smashed potato salad: try it with the sauce on the side as a dip to switch things up
Dill pickle chicken salad: serve with chips, crackers, as lettuce wraps or a sandwich
Cottage cheese bruschetta toast: make 3x the bruschetta and enjoy for breakfast + lunch all week
Romesco-ish green beans: a fancy but simple, hearty but summery side dish that will definitley jazz up your dinner plate

This week’s BTS: pumpkin spice fail 🫠
Since fall is being shoved down our throats already, 😭, I figured I should just get on board with pumpkin spice. I decided I wanted to create a pumpkin spice latte recipe for you so we can NOT spend $8 a day on a festive latte.
Almost as if someone was listening to my thoughts (…), I instantly saw an instagram post about pumpkin spice coffee flavoring that was said to be *the best*. I bought it and was so excited to share with you how this little $7 bottle was going to change your mornings.
